Isadora Lyn "Izzy" Mccarty

Isadora Lyn "Izzy" McCarty, 47, of Hurricane, WV, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at her parents home.

She was born January 4, 1978, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of Lonnie Lee McCarty and Madora May (Wilson) McCarty.

Isadora was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clarence and Geneva McCarty; maternal grandparents, David and Joyce Wilson; an uncle, Nathan Wilson; and three cousins, Adam McCarty, Tonda Nelson and Jessica Spencer.

Isadora was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1996 and a graduate of Marshall University Class of 2010. She was a member of Moxie Fitness in Hurricane, WV, where she enjoyed the company of all the ladies there. Isadora enjoyed kayaking, vacationing at the beach and loved her cats Baby and GG. She was a Rural Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service for 20 plus years.

Isadora is survived by her parents, Lonnie Lee and Madora May McCarty of Apple Grove, WV; three children, Riley Lee Griffith of Fraziers Bottom, WV, Geneva "Neva" Marie Kyle and Aven Elizabeth Kyle both of Hurricane, WV; a brother, James "Jamo" (Cookie) McCarty of Apple Grove, WV; a niece and nephew, Daphne and Gabe McCarty both of Apple Grove, WV; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a special childhood friend, Melody Nutter Jackson of Lebanon, OH; and previous husbands, Greg Griffith of Fraziers Bottom, WV and Brent Kyle of Hurricane, WV

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ronald Long officiating. Burial will follow at the Bowcott Cemetery in Fraziers Bottom. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home.
