Ira Dana Lovejoy, 65, of Point Pleasant, died peacefully at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 30, 1958, in Point Pleasant, the son of James and Reba (Sheline) Lovejoy.
Ira was preceded in death by his father, James Lovejoy; son, Shawn Bowser Lovejoy; and sister, Baby Lovejoy.
Ira was such a thoughtful and generous soul and will be sadly missed by his many friends and family. After graduation from High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country at home and abroad in Germany.
He also graduated with honors from the University of South Florida, with a degree in Computer Hardware Engineering. After graduation, Ira was employed with IBM and relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota. Ira spent his most recent years in Point Pleasant, close to family.
Ira is survived by his loving mother, Reba C. Sheline Lovejoy; daughters, Angie, Jessica, Fayth and Grace; sisters, Lee (Tim) Newberry and Dee Dee Simpkins; and special friends, Flint Greer and Susie and Marvin Wooten.
In honoring Ira's request there will be no services. Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
