Ian Christopher Thomas

Ian Christopher Thomas, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving parents Christopher and Melissa Thomas of Leon, West Virginia. Ian was born June 20, 2015, at 4:49 a.m., at Cabell Huntington Hospital and met the eyes of Jesus at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2015, in Heaven. During his brief time with us, he touched the lives of so many and enjoyed "kangaroo care" with his mommy and daddy, and being kissed. He was our little miracle and fighting warrior! We will always love and miss him and one day we will hold him again and have eternity to play with him in Heaven! Ian was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Leroy Smith; grandfather, Wayne Thomas; uncle, Lewis Jay Thomas; and great aunt, Donna DeWitt. He is survived, in addition to his parents, by two siblings, Ethan Searls and Gabriel Thomas of Leon; loving grandparents, Carolyn Thomas of Point Pleasant, WV and Frank and Linda Bates of Henderson, WV; great-grandma, Martha Smith of Henderson; and his uncles, William (Tina) Thomas of Arbuckle and Jeff Thomas of Point Pleasant. The family of Ian would like to give special thanks to Holzer Health System Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Joseph Werthammer, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Obstetrics and Gynecology Labor and Delivery of Cabell Huntington Hospital, for their excellent care given to Ian, and Mario Liberatore of Ohio Valley Bank, LaDonna Hart, and the many family and friends who have supported us during the past several weeks. A funeral service will be 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Dr. David Rahamut officiating. Burial will follow at the convenience of the family at Leon Cemetery, in Leon. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
