Hearl "Lloyd" Adkins

Hearl “Lloyd” Adkins, 88, of Ashton, WV, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at home after a valiant battle with Parkinson’s disease. Lloyd was born on April 24, 1933, a son to the late Lawrence Adkins and Amanda Adkins. He was retired from ACF, where he worked for 38 years. He was a former member of Wyoma Church. He enjoyed knife making and created many over his lifetime. He had a smile that was contagious. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Esther Tomblin; sister-in-law, Opal Adkins; and a granddaughter, Melissa Plants. He is survived by his wife of67 years, Mildred Adkins; daughters, Alice (Keith) Plants of Apple Grove, WV and Lois (Larry) Schofield of Ashton, WV; sisters, Odessa (Rayburn) Workman of Harts, WV; brothers, Bobby (Cubie) Adkins of Ellsworth, OH andGarland Adkins of Medina, OH; granddaughter, Kacy (Duane) Duffer of Fraziers Bottom, WV grandson, Shawn Plants (fiancee Stacy White and her son Luke White) of Apple Grove; and great-grandchildren, Elijah “Malik” Butler of Apple Grove, Cassidy Duffer of Huntington, WV, Dakota “Joe” Duffer of Fraziers Bottom, and Bailey Plants of Apple Grove. Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, with Pastor Ronald Long officiating. Burial will follow in Apple Grove Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1 prior to the service on Monday.
