Harold Eugene Thomas, 93, of Point Pleasant, died Friday, February 26, 2016 at home with family by his side. He was born July 31, 1922, in Leon, a son of the late Oak and Mary Nine (Cleek) Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy I. Thomas; four brothers, Emmons Thomas, Edwin "Butch" Thomas, Edgbert Thomas and Frederick Thomas; one sister, Norma Dell Reynolds; and son-in-law, Justin W. Fowler. Harold was a veteran of World War II, a retired Pipefitter on construction and a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitter Union Local 521 in Huntington. He was also a member of the Clifton Lodge No. 23 A.F. and A.M. of Mason and the American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant. He is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Sheila Fowler, Sherry Thomas and Haretta and Sam Connolly of Point Pleasant; one brother, Billy (Betty) Thomas of Mason; one sister, Blondena (Keith) Duffy of Chillicothe, OH; two grandchildren, Bridget (Joe) Roy of Lavalette and Jeremy (Jessica) Connolly of Point Pleasant; a step grandson, Jamie (Brandi) Connolly of Point Pleasant; two great grandchildren, Brayden and Kendal Connolly of Point Pleasant; two step great- grandsons, Brandon and Tommy Connolly of Point Pleasant; several nieces and nephews and a very good friend and caregiver, Sylvia Plantz. A graveside service and burial will be 3 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Joe Hammack officiating. Military graveside rites will be given by the WV Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #23 of Point Pleasant. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
