Harold Lester Durst

Harold Lester Durst, 82, of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to his lord and savior on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. He was born May 14, 1940, in Letart, WV, to Herschel "Winnie" and Edna Durst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgianna Howell. Harold was a faithful member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church and retired from Century Aluminum. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed spending time with his family, spending time outdoors and he could fix just about anything. He is survived by his loving wife, Jewell Ann (Jordan) Durst to whom he was married 63 years; two sons, James (Debby) Durst of Henderson and Keith (Melissa) Durst of Lancaster, OH; two grandsons, Cody Marcum and Tanner Durst; and two granddaughters, Abigail Durst and Peyton Casteel. He is also survived by a brother, Walter (Rosetta) Durst; four brothers-in-law, Donald Jordan, Jim (Ruby) Jordan, Willie (Ellen) Jordan and Ralph Howell; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Bert Flora and Pastor David Washington officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Sunday at the funeral home.
