Gwendolyn Lee (Bulmer) Ebert, 91, of Henderson, passed away peacefully at home on August 18, 2022, surrounded by her family. Gwen was born in Chelyan, WV in 1930, where she met her husband of 53 years, Charles Arthur Ebert Jr. who preceded her in death.She was also preceded in death by two children, Linda Lee Ebert and David Charles Ebert; parents, Harry and Hiland Bulmer; and siblings, John Bulmer, Harry "Tim" Bulmer, Phyllis Haddox, Imogene Barrack and Nola Beardall. She is survived by her children, Carol Ebert Blaine, Donna (Fred) Backus and Sonia (Carl) Birchfield; one brother, Herman Ashley "Pete" Bulmer; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and beloved cat Oscar. Gwen was well known during her years running the family store Ebert's Grocery on Crab Creek Road in Henderson.She also worked at Fruth's Pharmacy in Point Pleasant before retiring. Gwen was a 26 year breast cancer survivor.She was a faithful member of Jordan Baptist Church of Gallipolis Ferry, where she attended for over 40 years. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Bo Burgess officiating.Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery on Crab Creek Road, Gallipolis Ferry.The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Monday at the funeral home.
