Guyla Louise (Roush) Johnson, 84, of Point Pleasant, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at St. Marys Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She was a member of Church of Christ in Christian Union of Point Pleasant, a homemaker and former waitress. Guyla was born November 6, 1924 in Point Pleasant to the late Byron and Josie (Smith) Roush. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jo Roush; and two brothers, Orin Roush and Delbert Roush. Surviving are her husband, Melvin O. Johnson of Point Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin R. and Bobby Jo Johnson of Point Pleasant and Roger L. and Margie Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy L. and Rev. Thomas Starkey of Virginia Beach, VA; eight grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Boso of Kalamazoo, MI, Shelly Lee (Darren) Watson of Point Pleasant, Misty (Jason) Rollins of Leon, Jennifer (Matt) Frye of Jackson, Ohio, Elizabeth (Bryan) Housand of Virginia Beach, Michael Todd (Amy) Johnson of Point Pleasant, T.J. Starkey of Virginia Beach, and Marli Rae Johnson of Point Pleasant; and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009 at Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie Staats officiating. Burial will follow at the Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
