Gregory Allen Byer

Gregory Allen Byer, 56, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018, at home.He was born February 12, 1962, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Robert Wayne Byer and Reta Kay (Graham) Byer Wheeler of Point Pleasant.Greg was a chief engineer, working on the river for 26 years. He loved hunting, fishing and had a big heart.In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Gretchen Byer and Lindsey Byer (Kenny Putney); four grandchildren, Landon Hawk, Kailynn, Trycen and Kendal Putney; two sisters, Teresa A. Byer and Pamela D. Pickens; one half-sister, Leann (Bobby) Crisenberry; two brothers, Roger Shane (Dionne) Byer and John R. (Stephanie) Byer; mother of his children, Jan (Harbrecht) Byer; special friend, Renee Wickline; and several nieces and nephews.A private funeral service will be held at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating.
