Gloria Mae Whittington Hedrick

Gloria Mae Whittington Hedrick, 95, of Leon, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Jackson General Hospital in Ripley, WV.

She was born January 24, 1930 to the late Floyd Blair Bowles and Launa Bell (Sayre) Bowles.

Gloria attended Willing Heart Outreach Church in Point Pleasant and was a retired Nurses Aid from Pleasant Valley Hospital.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert M. Whittington and second husband, Paul Hedrick; three brothers, Hanford Eugene Bowles, William (Red) Bowles and John Bowles; and two grandsons, Michael Whittington and Rocky Whittington.

She is survived by a daughter, Shirley (Sheldon) Durst of Leon; three sons, Herbert Whittington Jr. of Buffalo, Roger (Debbie) Whittington of Leon and David (Bev) Whittington of Leon; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mona Rollins of Columbus, OH and Judy Bonecutter of Leon.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Haven of Rest Memory Gardens Chapel in Red House, WV, with Pastor Kelly Mullen officiating. Burial will follow at Haven of Rest Memory Gardens.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
