Gilbert Garland Gillispie

Gilbert Garland Gillispie, 87, of Point Pleasant died Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. Gilbert was a farmer. He was born February 12, 1920 in Robertsburg, WV to the late David William Gillispie and Elizabeth Ellen (Barber) Gillispie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, Susie (Eden) Gillispie, Mildred (Young) Gillispie and Annie Gillispie; a son, Stevie Gillispie; and brothers and sisters, Vina Johnson, Betty Jane Gillispie, Stella Eads, Mary Runion, Ethel Jeffers, Melvin Gillispie, Carl Gillispie, and John Gillispie. Surviving are his children, Diana (Jack) Howard of Marion, Ohio; Betty (Pat) Callahan of Marion, Ohio; Cindy (Jessie) Wilson of Marion, Ohio; Barbara Murrell of Marion, Ohio; Joyce Miller of Marion, Ohio; and Timothy Gillispie of Marion, Ohio; a sister, Bessie (Herman) Estep of Mason, WV; and brother, Gordon (Ruby) Gillispie of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren, and his dear and loving friend, Ann Brown. Services will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Gay Withrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Union Cemetery at Pliny, WV. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the funeral home.
