Gertrude E. Holland

Gertrude Esther Holland, 91, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord Friday, April 7, 2017, at home surrounded by family. She was born January 2, 1926, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Charles Luther Hesson and Ona Jane (Stover) Hesson. Gertrude was a homemaker and attended Heights United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen O. Holland; an infant son; four sisters, Betty Sayre, Iva Nease, Irene Gardner and Clara Mae Hall; and five brothers, Perry Hesson, Harley Hesson, Clarence Hesson, Stanley Hesson and Clinton Hesson. She is survived by two daughters, Beverly A. Kent and husband Rich of West Columbia and Glenna J. Holland of Point Pleasant; one son, Richard L. Holland and wife Judy of Point Pleasant; two grandchildren, Richard Lee Holland and Coria Kent of Point Pleasant; three great grandchildren, Rylee Dawn Holland, Logan Clay Holland and Jada Kent of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Mike Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
