Gary L. Cotton

Gary L. Cotton, 71, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

He was born December 28, 1952, in Gallipolis, OH, a son of the late C. Edwin Cotton and Mary M. (Fox) Cotton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Cotton; and a half sister, Charlene Litterini.

Gary was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1970 and Glenville State College Class of 1974.  He was the former owner of Village Pizza and The Pizza Party in Point Pleasant. Gary was a member of Minturn Lodge 19 AF & AM of Point Pleasant, Sons of the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose 731 of Point Pleasant.  His favorite hobby was golfing, relaxing by his pool and watching Westerns with his dog Lillie.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Elva M. (Abbott) Cotton of Point Pleasant; daughter and son-in-law, Myra L. and James Thomas of Cincinnati, OH; son, Neal Cotton of Gallipolis; stepdaughter, Janette (Jerry) Coe of Point Pleasant; and a sister, Lynette (Tony) Blake of Ashland, KY.  He is also survived by grandchildren, Miles Thomas of Cincinnati and Sydney Thomas of Cincinnati; step grandchildren, Zachary (Laura) Coe and Bryar Coe; step great-grandchildren,  Jolene Coe and Oaklyn Coe all of Point Pleasant; a nephew, Michael (Rosie) Ratliff of Villa Hills, KY;  great niece, Eisley Ratliff; and great nephews, Declan Ratliff and Arlo Ratliff.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ronnie Tote officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
