Fred James Slenker

Fred James Slenker, 86, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at home. He was born June 26, 1924 in Giles Co., Iowa, a son of the late Harry Alfred Slenker and Anna Louise (Bouhart) Slenker. Fred was a member of the Wesleyan Holiness Church of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer Slenker; and a sister, Arbutus Huff. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Sargent) Slenker of Point Pleasant; three daughters, Suzanna Rose Slenker of St. Albans, WV, Margaret Lynn Slenker of Pliny, WV, and Kathleen Mae (Sammy) Jeffers of Apple Grove; three grandchildren, Lila Siders, Bradley Siders, and Marshall Siders; and three great grandchildren, Allyson Siders, Abbigayl Siders, and Alexander Siders. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Daniel Brown officiating.
