Frank E. Rainey, 82, of Gallipolis Ferry, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, in Huntington. He was born July 16, 1934, in Gallipolis Ferry, a son of the late Harvey Ray Rainey and Alice Margaret (Yester) Rainey. Frank served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired from American Car and Foundry with 32 years service as a welder and was a member of American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara E. Rainey; one son, Wayne Edward Rainey; and a brother, Kenneth Rainey. He is survived by one daughter, Beverly (Larry) Jarrell of Gallipolis, OH; two sons, Bruce (Kimberly) Rainey of Gallipolis Ferry and Bryan (Heidi) Rainey of Point Pleasant; companion, Marcia Kline of Gallipolis Ferry and her son, Roger Eugene Kline. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joshua (Darlene) Dotson, Rachel (Jeffrey) Sietz, Eddie Hunter, Dalton (Chelsea) Jarrell, Franklin Parker Rainey, Jordan Klein, and Olivia Klein; one great-grandson, Tyson Jarrell; 12 step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Raymond Rainey, Tommy Rainey, and Larry (Brenda) Rainey; and one sister, Freda (Lester) Mount. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 22, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Military graveside rites will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
