Flora Margaret Fellure

Margaret (Flora) Fellure, 95, of Point Pleasant, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2024.

She was born January 4, 1929, in Point Pleasant, WV, the daughter of the late Homer and Edna Fellure.

As a young lady she proudly served our nation as a member of the United States Navy.  Her Navy service was one of the many highlights of her life.  She later retired from Broughton Dairy in Point Pleasant but also worked for Floral Fashions in Gallipolis.

Margaret had an adventurous fun-loving spirit that was a delight to all who knew her.  Her advice to her nieces and nephews on driving was legendary; "You're not speeding if you don't get caught" she would say with a wry grin.  When bungee jumping first came on the scene she just had to do it.

Above all things Margaret loved the Lord and her church family.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Gallipolis, OH.

In addition to her parents, her sisters and brothers, Alwildia (Wilda), Lucetta (Judy), Clara, Fay, Mabel, Mildred, Sina Louise, Ray, Willard (Sonny) preceded her in death.

She is survived by nieces and nephews, J.P. (John Paul) Halstead, Debi Bash, Dena Milner, Tim Young, Joe Fellure and Randy Fellure.; cousins, Patsy Keebaugh and Charity Towe; and was blessed with many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Carl "Boxer" Swisher officiating.  Burial will follow at New Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant, where military graveside honors will be given by the United States Navy Honor Guard and  Stewart-Johnson VFW Post 9926 of Mason, WV.  Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests sending a donation to the charity of your choice or to the Gallipolis Church of Christ in Christian Union, 2173 Eastern Avenue, Gallipolis, OH 45631.
