Father W. Wayne Gibbeaut

Father W. Wayne Gibbeaut, 73, of Leon, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. He was born July 2, 1943, in Leon, a son of the late Cecil Ray Gibbeaut and Wilma Frances (Thornton) Gibbeaut. Father Wayne was a former teacher in Mason County Schools. In 1983, he was ordained a catholic priest and served all of his ministry years on the Pueblo Reservations in New Mexico. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ervin Gibbeaut. He is survived by one sister, Betty Gibbeaut Hammack of Leon; a brother, Sidney Gibbeaut of Leon; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Prakash Sebastian officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
