Evelyn Virginia Weise

Evelyn Virginia Weise, 72, of Point Pleasant, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

She was born July 5, 1951, in Hogsett, WV, a daughter of the late Everett Garland Burris and Zelma Hazeldean (Conard) Burris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert "Bob" Burris.

Evelyn attended the College Hill Church in Gallipolis Ferry.  She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1969 and had worked as a nurse's aide at Pleasant Valley Hospital and Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She also had worked as a private caregiver and a cook with Kiddy Korner in Charlotte, NC.

She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Chantrel and Joseph Birchfield of Apple Grove, Cheri Sue Weise of Pioneer, OH and Nikki S. Weise and fiancé Jason Stover of Gallipolis Ferry; a sister, Sharen S. (John) Morris of Fairborn, OH; brother, William Charles (Shiela) Burris of Dayton, OH; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the College Hill Church with Pastor Josh Searls and Evangelist Cathy Searls officiating.  Private burial will be held at a later date in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
