Evelyn Jeanne Stover

Evelyn Jeanne Stover, 76, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away at home on Thursday, December 26, 2024.

She was born October 16, 1948 to the late Joseph Fowler and Geraldine (Barker) Fowler.

Evelyn attended Wyoma Penticostal Church and Mt. Carmel Church in Gallipolis Ferry. She was a retired cook from Pleasant Valley Hospital with over 20 years of service. Evelyn had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She was loved so much by so many.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, two sisters, Connie Fowler and Joan Shamblin; and two brothers, Donald and Larry Fowler.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Dorrance Vinson Stover of Gallipolis Ferry; one son, David Eugene (Peggy Ellen) Woyan of Milton; one stepson, Todd (Marcy) Stover of Gallipolis Ferry; three grandchildren, Drew Elijah Woyan of Milton, Princess Amanda Elynn Woyan of Milton and Ryan Stover of Gallipolis Ferry; three sisters, Nancy Fowler of Nitro, WV, Joyce Parsons of Crown City, OH and Bonnie Bengert of San Antonio, TX; two brothers, Joseph "Butch" Fowler of Leesville, LA and Albert Fowler of Red House, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Rusty Stover officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
