Evelyn Joann Nowlin

Evelyn Joann Nowlin, 92, of Point Pleasant, passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

She was born March 22, 1932, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of George W. McKinney and Lydia A. (Shinn) McKinney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Nowlin Jr.; daughter, Rosita Bauer; sons, George Nowlin and James Nowlin; brothers, A.W. "Junior" McKinney, Oral McKinney, Merle McKinney and Russell McKinney; and one loving sister, best friend and travel companion, Maxine West.

Evelyn was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Point Pleasant.

She is survived by her children, Juanita (Dolas) McComas of Apple Grove, Dale (Brenda) Nowlin of Point Pleasant, Carol (Doug) Bryant of Gallipolis, OH, David (Linda) Nowlin of Point Pleasant and Joseph Nowlin of Point Pleasant; a son-in-law, Manford Bauer of Point Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Brenda West of Pittsburgh, PA and a special nephew, Jimmy Edmonds of Apple Grove.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating.  Burial will follow at the Bowcott Cemetery in Fraziers Bottom.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
