Etheline Brackenrich

Etheline (Ballard) Brackenrich, 94, of Point Pleasant, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was born October 28, 1915 in Beckley, WV, a daughter of the late Kester P. Ballard and Nancy Jane (Rogers) Ballard. Etheline was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church in Beckley, WV and the White Stick Rebecca Lodge of Mabscott, WV. She enjoyed sports, camping at her cottage on the Greenbrier River, and the activities at the Gene Salem Senior Center in Point Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence N. Brackenrich; three sisters, Nina Zutaut, Gladys Petty, and Anamae Bryson; and two brothers, Fred Ballard and Kelly Ballard. Surviving are her daughter, Jane "Lee" Lewis of Point Pleasant; two granddaughters, Debra Jane (Surbaugh) Hussell of Point Pleasant and Pamela Sue (Surbaugh) Gaines and husband Ellis of Raleigh, NC; four great-grandchildren, Andrea Hussell Noles and husband Daniel of Charlotte, NC, Drew Hussell and wife Tiffany of Huntington, Dylan Gaines of Raleigh, NC and Drake Gaines of Raleigh, NC. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Beckley, WV with Pastor Ken Overdorf officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
