Esther C. Blain

Esther (Saunders) Blain, 83, of Gallipolis, Ohio formerly of Henderson, WV died Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at Holzer Senior Care in Bidwell, Ohio. Esther was a homemaker, and member of the Henderson Church of Christ and the Mason County Homemakers Club. She was born August 16, 1924 in Harrison Township, Gallia County, Ohio to the late Okey E. and Maude (Buckle) Saunders. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Blain; and two sisters, Mildred Rose and Edith McCall. Surviving are a son, David (Melinda) Shoemaker of Brentwood, TN; two stepsons, Larry (Barbara) Blain and Glenville (Violet) Blain of Gallipolis Ferry, WV; a stepdaughter, Geraldine McAllister of Bidwell; two grandchildren, Lia (Jarrod) Watson of Nashville, TN; and Jena Shoemaker of Brentwood, TN; and numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Minister Lewis Mikell officiating. Burial will follow in the Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis, Ohio. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the staff of Holzer Senior Care for their special care and attention given to Esther.
