Ervin Lee Conard, 67, of Glenwood, left this earth for his heavenly home, Monday, June 8, 2015, surrounded by his family and extended family, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. He was born December 5, 1947, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Erva Conard and Fannie Belle (Neighborgall) Conard. Ervin was retired from CSX Railroad of Huntington. He was a devoted husband, father, and gramps whose life was his family and horses. He enjoyed the trips to the horse sales and countless friends he made on the way. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Janet (Jordan) Conard; a daughter, Sarah Jane (Jerry) Adkins of Apple Grove; one son, Chad Ervin (Linda) Conard of Rio Grande, OH; eight grandchildren, Melissa Gibson, Tiffany Adkins, Dylan Kitchen, Nathan Conard, Brandon Adkins, Wyatt Adkins, Jenni (Joey) Loomis, and Jessi Plantz; one great grandchild, Kylie Plantz; and one sister, Judith (John) Hughes of Gallipolis Ferry. He is also survived by a large extended family and his co-worker and loafing buddy, Randy Williams. But above all, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ with his whole heart. Psalms 37: v.23 "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way." A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Charlie Langdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Conard Family Cemetery at Glenwood. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
