Ernest Alexander Smith

Ernest Alexander Smith, 82, of Charleston, WV, died Monday, February 20, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born September 9, 1929, in Birmingham, Alabama, a son of the late Rev. John David Smith and Laura Jane (Thomas) Smith. Ernest was a member of the Metropolitan First Baptist Church of Charleston, WV, and had owned and operated Smith's Janitorial Services in Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth (Freeman) Smith; and one sister, Alice George. Surviving are his daughter, Ernestine Susan Smith-Roberts (Marc) of Alexandria, Virginia; two grandchildren, Destiny Roberts and Faith Roberts of Alexandria, VA; and one brother, Larry Smith of Columbus, Ohio. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Montgomery Memorial Park Chapel in London, WV. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
