Ernest L. "Sonny" Hill Jr.

Ernest L. "Sonny" Hill Jr., 78, of Ripley, WV formerly of Point Pleasant died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Jackson General Hospital. He was born June 7, 1932 in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Ernest L. Hill Sr. and Elizabeth (Pearson) Hill. Sonny had attended various churches in Point Pleasant and loved to fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by, two brothers, William B. Hill and John D. Hill; and one sister, Ella F. Hill. Surviving are seven sisters, Sally Wears of Gallipolis, JoAnn McDonald of Gallipolis, Mary (Robert) Jones of Gallipolis, Virginia Stickler of Gallipolis, Wilma Hill of Point Pleasant, Nancy Hill of Proctorville, OH, and Shirley Byus of Gallipolis; his best friend, Charlie Lilly of Point Pleasant; special caregivers, Tammy King and Sherry Stoffel; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow in the New Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant.
