Emma Marie Gillespie

Friday morning August 18, 2006, Emma Marie "Wimpy" Gillespie 71, of Point Pleasant went home to be with her Lord after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born May 16, 1935, in Camden-on-Gauley in Nicholas County, WV to the late Earl and Mary (Spore) Postlewait. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister; Ann Wable and two brothers; Richard and Edward Postlewait. Wimpy was a member of the New Hope Bible Baptist Church, and involved with the ladies fellowship, care committee, church choir and was an exceptional homemaker. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Donald Gillespie of Point Pleasant, one daughter; Dawn Gillespie of Point Pleasant; three sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Jeanie Gillespie of Tampa, FL, Jeff and Debby Gillespie of Leon, WV and Aaron Gillespie of Lexington, KY, three sisters and brother-in-law; Mary Lou Case of Craigsville, WV, Karen and Terry Lincoln of Jamestown, NY and Bonnie Price of Fort Mitchell, KY, four brothers and sisters-in-law; Russell and Barbara Postlewait of Webster Springs, WV, Jack and Gerry Postlewait of Webster Springs,WV, Ernest Postlewait of Dividing Creek, NJ, and Carl Postlewait of Diania,WV, three grandchildren; Derrick and Jessica Gillespie of Point Pleasant,Jeffrey Gillespie II of Point Pleasant,and Lindsay Huddleston of Leon, WV; one very special friend, Terry Collison of Point Pleasant. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2006 at the New Hope Bible Baptist Church, Point Pleasant,with the Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Burial will follow at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 20, 2006, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home, Point Pleasant and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the New Hope Bible Baptist Church, 3 Robinson Street, Point Pleasant, WV 25550.
