Emily Mae Wood

Emily Mae (Hess) Wood, 71, of Apple Grove, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Holzer Senior Care. She was born January 30, 1940, in Ansted, WV to the late Leslie Franklin Hess and Emily Merle (Blair) Hess. Emily was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and most of all, a good christian lady who served her Lord. She is survived by her husband, Merle Wood of Apple Grove; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca D. Bucy (Jon) of Cave Creek, AZ, Stephanie Lynn Hatfield (Joe) of Gallipolis Ferry; three granddaughters, Megan Hatfield, Erin Hatfield and Allison Hatfield all of Gallipolis Ferry; one brother, David Hess (Ann) of Spring Lake, NC. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Warner and Pastor Hollis Walter officiating. Burial will follow in the Barton Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the funeral home.
