Emil Eugene Hoffman

Emil Eugene Hoffman, 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, OH. He was born July 12, 1945, in New Haven, WV, a son of the late Emil Leon Hoffman and Maxine Lola (Graham) Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Keegan Matthew Duncan; a granddaughter, London Emilee Parsons; and brother, Bruce Wayne Hoffman. Emil was a retired chemist from the AEP Gavin Plant. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1963 and Glenville State College, Class of 1968. Emil was an Army Sergeant in the 101st Airborne. He was a member of the VFW Stewart-Johnson Post 9926 of Mason and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Deborah Sue (Thomas) Hoffman of Point Pleasant; a daughter, Hannah Lauren (Josh) Taylor of Pomeroy, OH; two grandchildren, Jackson Emil Parsons and Abbie Kay Taylor both of Pomeroy; four siblings, Shirley (Robert) Cline of Point Pleasant, Roy (Juanita) Hoffman of Mason, Ray Emil Hoffman of Point Pleasant and Danny Hoffman of Gallipolis, OH; and a sister-in-law, Deborah Kay Hoffman of Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 25, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jonathan Pinson officiating. Burial will follow at Hoffman Cemetery in Letart, WV. Military graveside honors will be given by the WV Honor Guard and Stewart-Johnson VFW Post 9926 of Mason. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.
