Ellen Lunora "Sally" Cole, 77, of Washington, WV, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born November 15, 1938, in Mason County, WV, a daughter of the late William H. and Hazel E. (Sayre) Herdman. Sally was a loving mother and grandmother. She had many hobbies including quilting, gardening and reading and was a member of the New England Baptist Church. The legacy she leaves is her tremendous work ethic and love of family. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by husbands, Howard F. Knapp, who died in 1960 and John S. Cole, who died in 1982; one sister, Janette Sheets; one brother, Keith Herdman; one grandson, Stephen Patton; brothers-in-law, Dallas Durst and John Harden and sister-in-law, Susie Herdman. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Ney Williamson of Southside, Rita and Steve Hope of St. Albans, Patti and Pete Barrett of Parkersburg and Darlena and Craig Brown of Parkersburg; eight grandchildren, Michelle McKinney, Nicole (Scott) Taylor, Shannon Barrett, Darrell (Stephanie) Pickens, Carla (Scott) Parsons, Jeremy (Nipat) Bock, Renee (Frank) Kendall and Sherry Williamson and (Adam Richmond); several great grandchildren; six siblings, Bernice Harden, Gay (Imogene) Herdman, Dwight Herdman, Garnet (Bonnie) Herdman, Beverly Durst, Edward (Vickie) Herdman and sister-in-law, Goldie Herdman and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Creston Cemetery in Leon. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday.
