Elizabeth Suzanne Milstead, 90, of Saint Albans, WV, passed away Friday, November 15, 2024, at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center in Middleport, OH.
She was born November 3, 1934, in Martinsburg, WV, a daughter of the late Shearl L. Edler and Elizabeth Rebecca (Langstaff) Edler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Phillip Richard Henderson; one sister, Sally Jo Masters; and a brother, Shearl L. Edler.
Suzanne was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1952 and attended Marshall University. She retired with 20 years of service from the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Point Pleasant WV, in the Work and Training Section. She enjoyed her employment and loved helping her clients. She once said that some of her clients would be upset with her about having to work, but later would come back to thank her.
Suzanne was very close to God. She attended church regularly and participated in "Soul Winning" until she was no longer able. She was a very kind woman and loved to help others.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Milstead of Saint Albans, WV; daughters and sons-in-law, Julie E. Henderson Watson and husband Bobby of Point Pleasant and Leah Jo Patterson Stover and husband Scott of Gallipolis Ferry; a son, Michael A. Patterson of Evans, WV; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service and burial will be held at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
