Elizabeth M. "Libby" Mattox

Elizabeth M. "Libby" Mattox, 85, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. She was born November 29, 1930, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Adam Krebs and Dorothy F. (Fowler) Krebs. Libby was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant and served as Choir Director for 20 years. She graduated from Marshall University School of Music, where she obtained her Masters Degree in Music. She retired from Mason County Schools as Director of Personnel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Adam Stanley Krebs. She is survived by her husband, Walter Otho Mattox of Point Pleasant; one daughter, Karla Dawn Donovan and husband Kevin of Skillman, NJ; a son, Brent Scott Mattox of Sugarland, TX; and five grandchildren, Ryan Donovan, Connor Donovan, Sean Donovan, Gavin Mattox and Aaron Mattox. Also surviving are two sisters, Geneth G. Krebs of Point Pleasant and Sharon Sue McGraw and husband John of Point Pleasant; one brother, Allen R. Krebs and wife Vicki of Mason; a sister-in-law, Bessie Louise Wilson of Point Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2016, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jim Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at New Lone Oak Cemetery in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
