Edwin Leroy Rayburn

Edwin L."Ed" Rayburn, 91, of Point Pleasant died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Lakin Hospital, Lakin, WV. Ed was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School with the Class of 1935, a veteran of World War II and a farmer. He was born May 11, 1916 in Point Pleasant to the late Charles E. and Della Mae (Kincaid) Rayburn. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Rayburn; a sister, Sybil (Sam) Paxton; and a foster brother, Emanuel "Buck" Collas. Surviving are a sister-in-law, Virginia Rayburn of Point Pleasant; a niece, Judy (Cecil) Camden of Amherst, VA; a nephew, Danny (Diana) Rayburn of Rocky Mt., VA; two grand nephews; two grand nieces; and a special friend, Lawrence Plants of Point Pleasant. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Suncrest Cemetery with Pastor Joe Hammack officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
