Edward Ray Ihle

March 29, 1941 — May 15, 2022

Edward Ray Ihle, 81, of New Haven, WV, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at home. He was born March 29, 1941, in New Haven, a son of the late Jess Edward Ihle and Dana Florence (Roush) Ihle and spent a majority of his lifetime on Quincy Road. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first born daughter, Donna Rae Grimm; and sisters, Judy Robinson, Nellie Mae Thornton, Cora Jewell, Ruby Capehart and Barbara Jean Harris. Edward was a faithful member of the Board Baptist Church. He walked by faith and believed anyone could be forgiven for their sins. His favorite saying was, "God don't make junk". He was a retiree of Foote Mineral/American Alloys of New Haven, where he ran an end loader for many years. He was a collector of many vehicles over the years; many remember his later vehicles and the elaborate lights and paint jobs he performed on them.He was definitely a man who didn't care what others thought of him and lived his life to the fullest.Always helping out anyone in need whether it would be a hitchhiking stranger or a friend who needed help on their farm.Edward was always ready to jump in and work until the sun went down.Once the sun was down he would talk on his CB radio from his bedroom that reached as far as 75 miles away from his home at one point in time. Anywhere he went he made friends and everyone loved him.He was always smiling and always willing to lend a helping hand no matter what.He loved his children and grandchildren.Every time his granddaughter's fiancé walked into a room his face would instantly perk up and they would have long chats about trucks, boats and women. He also loved his great-grandbabies more than words could measure.Logan Jacob and Joslyn were his little buddies that would sneak in an ice cream bar every time they could. He didn't have the chance to meet Paige but he will be watching over her from afar. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda Joyce (Johnson) Ihle of New Haven; daughter, Debra Kay Ihle and Scott Miller of Letart; grandchildren, Tasha Nicole Boster and Joshua Byer of New Haven, Jonah and Heather Boswell of West Columbia and Adriana Marie Boswell of West Columbia; great-grandchildren, Logan Ray,Jacob Allen, Joslyn Amelia and Paige Ann Marie; a sister, Betty Jo (Randy) Lee of Rutland, OH; and brothers, Jim (Tracy) Ihle of Ravenswood and Russell (Ruth) Robinson of Pomeroy, OH. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Donnie Dye officiating.Burial will follow at the Broad Run Cemetery in Letart.Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
