Edward D. Blakeman, 78, of Point Pleasant, died Monday, September 28, 2015, at home. He was born October 2, 1936, in Fort Scott, Kansas, a son of the late Raymond F. Blakeman and Francis Sidwig Blakeman. Edward was retired from the Lowe Hotel as desk clerk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Francis (Myers) Blakeman; one daughter, Sheila Blakeman; stepson Richard Thomas; longtime companion, Gladys Plants; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by one son, Edward (Diana) Blakeman Jr. of Point Pleasant; daughter, Cathy Jones and James Crews of Crown City, OH; stepdaughter, Debra Fellure; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A memorial service and burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
