Eddie D. Simpkins

It is with great sadness that the family of Eddie Dean Simpkins announces his passing after a brief illness, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at the age of 68 years. Eddie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Ann; his children, Jackie (Jimmy) Freeman and Jeff (Kristen) Simpkins. Eddie will also be fondly remembered by his nine grandchildren, Hillary (Dewey) Wroten, Heather Freeman, Eric (Olivia) Freeman, Aaron Freeman, Jeffrey Simpkins, Lexi Simpkins, Shae-Ann Simpkins, Hayley Roberts, Chloe Roberts; two great-granddaughters, Lyla Rose Freeman and Marlow Ruth Wroten; and a new soon to be great-grandbaby, Maisie Grace Wroten. His siblings will greatly miss him as well, Debbie (Bobby) Law, Charles (Laura) Bonecutter, Rochelle Glassburn and Becky.Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Glen Simpkins; brother, Don Simpkins; mother Maxine Bonecutter; and also father John Bonecutter.He was a member of Willing Heart Church of Point Pleasant. Anyone who knew dad knew his love for music that he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Also, anyone who knew him knew that his grandchildren were his world. We would like to thank the staff of Pleasant Valley Hospital for the wonderful care that they gave to dad.A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Roger Bonecutter officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart.
