Dorothy Virginia Whittington

Dorothy Virginia Whittington, 84, of Southside, WV, died Friday, October 15, 2010 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born October 15, 1926, in Charleston, WV, a daughter of the late Orville Vesber Townsend and Dora Blanche (Markle) Lovek. Dorothy was a homemaker and member of Hambrick Church in Southside. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Belt; one sister, Gladys Stanley; and three grandchildren, Charles Ellis, Keith Allen Whittington, and Cassandra Whittington. Surviving are her husband, John W. Whittington of Southside; children, Lorretta (Hanley) Jeffers of Southside, Paul (Sandi) Ellis of Chloe, WV, Eddie (Bonnie) Whittington of Thornville, OH, Jenny (Kenny) Lybarger of Southside, Mike Whittington of Thornville, OH, and Terry Whittington of Thornville, OH; one sister, Marg Hughes of Dry Branch, WV; 37 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Isaiah Crump and Pastor Michele Keesling officiating.
