Dorothy Gladys Mayse

Dorothy Gladys Mayse, 96, of Apple Grove, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at the Pleasant Valley Healthcare Center in Point Pleasant.

She was born May 16, 1927, in Ashton, a daughter of the late Joseph A. Wright and Elsie (Hawthorne) Wright.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Mayse; sons, Danny Joseph Mayse, Stevie Mayse and Darrell Mayse; a grandson, John Wesley Cornell; sisters, Janet Wright and Margie Bond; and brothers, Dallas, Wayne, Dorcie, Denver and Roger Dale Wright.

Dorothy was a homemaker and attended Christian Valley Church of Christ of Glenwood.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Mike Cornell of Apple Grove and Karen and Pat Rawlins of Columbus, OH; a brother, Ronnie Wright of Ashton; sister, Mary Dayonez McGowan of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Brother Ronnie Wright officiating.  Burial will follow at the Crist Cemetery in Ashton.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
