Dorothy Lillian (Baird) Withers

Dorothy L. Withers, 89, of Grove City, Ohio, died peacefully Thursday, February 16, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee where she had resided for the past three years. Dorothy was born August 21, 1922 in Hogsett, WV, a daughter of the late James Franklin Baird and Lillie Katherine (Kinnaird) Baird. She was retired from the State of Ohio with 35 years service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Eugene Withers; a daughter, Gloria Kay Palmer; and one sister, Helena Campbell. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and George Nelson of Mt. Juliet, TN; son, David Withers of Grove City, OH; granddaughter, Michelle (Peyton) Oates of Clarkville, TN; grandson, George Nelson Jr. of Mt. Juliet, TN; the apple of her eye, great granddaughter, Madelyn Marie Oates; one sister, Aileen (Baird) Such of Bidwell, OH; and brother, Kerr (Jeanette) Baird of Gallipolis Ferry, WV. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Carl Swisher officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Apple Grove. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
