Dorothy L. (Coleman) Campbell, 83, of Point Pleasant died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She attended Pleasant View Church of Gallipolis Ferry, was a homemaker and retired cook from Pleasant Valley Hospital with 10 years service. Dorothy was born Sept. 12, 1925 in Southside, WV to the late David and Clara (Stover) Coleman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Campbell, Sr.; a daughter, Clara Virginia Carr; two grandsons, William Dale Carr and Craig Lee Campbell; two sisters, Roxie Brown and Opal Duncan; and five brothers, Vernon, Randal, Richard, Herbert, and Cleo Coleman. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Betty Marie and Albert Cable of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sons and daughter-in-law, Roger L. and Cindy Campbell of Gallipolis Ferry and John W. Campbell, Jr. of Gallipolis Ferry; four brothers, Sam Coleman of California; Leo Coleman of Clarksburg, WV; Milford Coleman of Ashton, WV; and Glenn Coleman of Johnstown, OH; five grandchildren, Howard L. Carr of Gallipolis Ferry; Charles D. Kinnaird of Point Pleasant; Thomas A. Kinnaird of Parkersburg; John David Campbell of Atlanta, GA; and Shelly Dawn Spradling of Lebanon, OH; nine great grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 10 at Pleasant View Church in Gallipolis Ferry with Pastor Ted Nance officiating. Burial will follow in the Beale Chapel Cemetery at Apple Grove. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Online condolences may be made at www.wilcoxenfunearlhome.com.
