Donald Walker

Donald Walker, 71, of Henderson, went home to be with his Lord Saturday, February 18, 2017, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. He was born March 7, 1945, in Gallipolis Ferry, a son of the late Jessie Bennett Walker and Minnie Marie (Pearson) Walker. Donald was a retired truck driver, logger and business owner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Carol Katherine (Rayburn) Walker; one daughter, Angela Lynn Walker; three sisters, Genevieve Starcher, Lavina Meaige and Carren Sue Walker; three brothers, Chuckie Louis Walker, Little Jackie Walker and Estille Burdell Walker. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya Dawn and Rodney Gleason of Gallipolis Ferry and Rebecca Dawn and Eric Porter of Gallipolis Ferry; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Brent) Hereford, Jacob Gleason, Trevor Porter and Kauri Porter all of Gallipolis Ferry; two great grandchildren, Bash and Cruz Hereford; one sister, Anna Jean Thompson of Point Pleasant; two brothers, Garland (Linda) Walker of Point Pleasant and Odis Walker of West Columbia; as well as a large extended family and many friends. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Jack McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
