Delores Jean Brown

Delores Jean Brown, 82, of Point Pleasant, formerly of Apple Grove, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at home. She was born December 31, 1933, in Mercers Bottom, Mason County, a daughter of the late Clyde Wesley Bowen Sr. and Bonnie Mae (Nowlin) Bowen. Delores was a homemaker and member of Beale Chapel Church in Apple Grove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter Brown; two sons, Timmy Scott Brown and Hunter D. "Butch" Brown II; and one brother, Clyde Wesley Bowen Jr. Delores is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael B. and Connie Brown of Point Pleasant; daughter-in-law, Toni Brown of Apple Grove; four grandchildren, Hunter D. "Bo" Brown III of Apple Grove, Jill (Brad) Lilly of Point Pleasant, Michael "Andy" Brown of Apple Grove and Brandon Brown of Apple Grove; and two great-grandsons, Hunter and Jake Lilly. Also surviving are one sister, Norma K. (Dudley) Wears of Apple Grove; a brother, Gary Truman Bowen of Apple Grove; sister-in-law, Janette Bowen of Apple Grove; and special caregivers, Janet Blankenship and Wanda Hughart. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Beale Chapel Church in Apple Grove, with Pastor Steven Sanderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Beale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
