Deidrea "Dee Dee" C. Simpkins

Deidrea "Dee Dee" C. Simpkins, 67, of Point Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, WV.

She was born April 7, 1957, in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of James W. Lovejoy and Reba C. (Sheline) Lovejoy.

Dee Dee was preceded in death by her father, James W. Lovejoy; daughter, Mitzi Austin; brother, Ira D. Lovejoy; infant sister, baby Lovejoy; and her companion, Flint Greer.

Dee Dee had a heart as big as Texas, she loved and cared for everyone she met.  She loved to dance and have a good time.

She is survived by her mother, Reba C. Lovejoy of Point Pleasant; a son, Oden "Bubby" Austin III and wife Heather; sister, Lee Newberry; grandchildren; and many family members and friends who loved her.

Her family would like to thank her longtime friend Doug Banks and his family for the care they gave Dee Dee in her last days at home and also to the staff of the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington for their compassion and care.

In honoring Dee Dee's wishes there will be no services.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
