David Lee Whitt

David Lee Whitt, 67, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2020, at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was born September 7, 1952, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Jessie Whitt and Phyllis Ann (Mayes) Ferguson. David was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1970 and Rio Grande University Class of 2005. He retired from Meigs Coal Mine #2 in Albany, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepfather who raised him, Chalmers Walter Ferguson; one stepbrother, Robert Ferguson; and one stepsister, Priscilla Noble. David is survived by his wife, Marsha Faye (Wilfong) Whitt whom he married September 11, 1974; one son, Christopher David (Kelly Jenkins) Whitt of Bristol, TN; one stepbrother, George Ferguson of Illinois; and two uncles, William "Sonny" (Pansy) Mayes of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Roger (Lynn) Mayes of Cheshire, OH. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Friday, August 14, 2020, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
