David Jon Darst

David Jon Darst, 72, of Letart, WV, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at home.

He was born August 2, 1950, in Pomeroy, OH, a son of the late Delmar Darst and Virginia Marie (Tipton) Darst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Darst; and sisters, Joyce Newell and Karen Hughes.

David was a man of strong faith.  He was a graduate of Kyger Creek High School Class of 1968, and retired from the United Mine Workers.  In his spare time he loved hunting, trapping and spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Ann (Blessing) Darst; daughter, Raven J. Darst of Point Pleasant; a grandson, Aiden D. Swift of Point Pleasant; and a sister, Kathy Bush of Pomeroy.

The family would like to give special thanks to David Stump of Gallipolis and Mike Schuler of New Haven for being friends for life.

There will be no public services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
