David John Heade

David John Heade, 72, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, WV. He was born July 15, 1946, in Portland, OR, the son of the late John Joseph Heade and Laura Ann (Cauley) Heade. David served his country honorably during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy, serving in Da Nang, Vietnam. In recent years, he joined a group of fellow navy sailors known as "Tin Can Sailors". He had worked for the Longview Fibre Company and was a member of the Association of Western Pulp and Paper Workers Local 153 of Longview, Washington. He was a graduate of R. A. Long High School Class of 1964 in Longview, WA, and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant. He is survived by his wife, Deborah J. (McConihay) Heade of Point Pleasant; and daughter, Jill Heade of Chesapeake, VA. A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Father Pen (Penumaka) officiating. Burial will follow at the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant. Military graveside rites will be given by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant.
