David B. Brown, 68, of Point Pleasant, died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at home with family by his side. He was born January 6, 1949, in Kentuck, WV, a son of the late Brooks Lorn Brown and Eleanor Artann (Miller) Brown. David was a retired heavy equipment operator with 24 years service for the West Virginia Department of Highways in Jackson County, WV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edison and Maxine Putney; one brother, Okey Brown, a sister and brothers-in-law, Brenda (Roger) Hinzman, Jackie Parsons and Jim Lively; and a nephew, James Brown. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Putney) Bentz Brown of Point Pleasant; children, Stella Dawn Brown of Point Pleasant, David Michael Brown of Ripley, Anita (Rick) Hinzman of Sandyville, Candi (Ray) Beegle of Leon, Michea (Tim) Wendell of Evans and Bryan (Alicia) Bentz of Point Pleasant; 20 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nine brothers and sisters, Rudy (Dottie) Brown of Kenna, Doll Lively of Kentuck, Jessie (Helen) Brown of Kentuck, Jimmy (Phyllis) Brown of Ripley, Dora Smith of Ripley, Icie Parsons of Apple Grove, Connie (Donnie) White of Gay, Betty (Roger) Parsons of Leon and Roger Lee Brown of Fairplain. A graveside service and burial will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant, with Brandon Hinzman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
