Darrell Ray Gandee

Darrell R. Gandee, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday, March 15, 2018.He was born October 10, 1936, the son of the late Cary (Herman) Gandee and Macel Underwood Gandee.Darrell retired from the Mason County Board of Education where he was a school bus driver and transportation supervisor.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Thomas Gandee; grandchildren, Macy Gandee and Dustin Paul Roach; and brothers-in-law, Archie Chapman and Henry Rollins.Darrell is survived by three sons, Darrell R. Gandee, Jr. and Keith (Linda) Gandee of Leon, and Raymond (Dawn) Gandee of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Deloris "Dodie" (Paul) Roach of Point Pleasant and Melissa Taylor of Apple Grove; grandchildren, Leigh Ann (Josh) Atkinson of Orient, OH, Amy Richards of Point Pleasant, Chelsi Gandee of Cheshire, OH, Ray Gandee Jr. and Karli Gandee of Point Pleasant, Seth Gandee and Sarah Gandee of Leon, Olivia Roach of Point Pleasant, Emily Taylor and Averi Taylor of Apple Grove; great-grandchildren, Skylar Richards of Orient, Tyson Richards of Point Pleasant, Aiden and Autumn Atkinson of Orient, Asher Gandee of Cheshire and Isaiah Roach of Point Pleasant. He is also survived by sisters, Betty Miller of Tennessee, Margel Chapman of Alliance, OH, Janet (George) Jodon and Edna Rollins of Leon; and brothers, Glen (Lina) Gandee and Gary (Nora) Gandee of Alliance.A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor David Kopp officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV.
