Darlin Rosalie Thornton

Darlin Rosalie Thornton, 85, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at home.

She was born August 28, 1938, in Long Bottom, OH, a daughter of the late Jennings E. White and Edna G. (Ashley) White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith R. Thornton; sons, Anthony Wayne Thornton and Keith Ray Thornton Jr.; sisters, Donna White, Marigole Wilson and Delena Howery; brothers, Carl, Raymond, Kenneth, James, Clayton, Cifford, C. Franklin, and infant brothers Victor and Darrell White.

Darlin was a homemaker and member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, DaWanna and Michael Holley of Point Pleasant; granddaughters, Christa Furlong of Point Pleasant, Candice (Trevor) Wayne of Huntington and Bethany (Brad) Hudson of Point Pleasant; grandsons, Kane (Rebecca) Thornton of Perry, OH and Scott Anthony Thornton of Mooresville, NC; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Furlong of Point Pleasant, Aidan McQuaid of Point Pleasant, Faith Thornton of Perry, OH and Julie Thornton of Perry, OH.  She is also survived by sisters, June (David) Hesson of Seymour, TN, Delores Russell of St. Albans, WV and Dixie Martin of St. Albans, WV; and brothers, J. Douglas (Pat) White of FL, Ralph W. White of Painesville, OH and Richard (Brenda) White of Quincy, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the White Cemetery in Long Bottom, OH.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.
