Darlena Sue Price

Darlena Sue Price, 80, of Point Pleasant, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, OH.

She was born July 17, 1942, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Wallace Joe Deal and Marie Margaret (Mayes) Deal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Price Jr. M.D.; and one sister, Leona (Charles) Potts.

Sue was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis and the Order of Eastern Star in Point Pleasant.  She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1960 and Marshall University.  During her working career, Sue worked for Peoples Bank of Point Pleasant, Mason County Sheriff's Tax Office and retired from the Mason County Board of Education, as a school aide.

Sue is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Harry Queen of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Kelley Poff of Proctorville, OH; grandchildren, Brett (Emily) Sergent of Ona, WV, Austi (Hunter) Roush of Huntington, WV,  Braley Poff of Proctorville and Allie Poff of Proctorville; and two great grandchildren, Willa Roush and Harper Sergent.  She is also survived by sisters, Sadie (Milford) Coleman of Ashton, WV and Kay Corbin of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Leonard (Doris) Deal of Point Pleasant; extended family, Beth Sergent; Josh, Ashley, Caleb, Aby and Cale Jones; Gracie Queen and J.R. Queen and family; special friends, Virginia Sanders of Point Pleasant and Carroll Snowden of Gallipolis; and caregivers, Teresa Banks and Kaitlin Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Joe Nott officiating.  Burial will be in the Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis, OH.
