Dallas Ray Edmonds, 70, of Glenwood, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born November 4, 1952, in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Dallas Alvin Edmonds and Edna Bernadine (Wray) Edmonds.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Merideth Edmonds.
Ray was a graduate of Hannan High School, Class of 1970 and retired with 35 years' service with Boilermakers Local 667 of Winfield. His hobby was farming but he also enjoyed, spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and watching football and racing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Ann (Birchfield) Edmonds of Glenwood; children, Ray (Becky) Edmonds of Rockwell, NC, Joyce (Jeff) Oiler of Vinton, OH, Jamie (Sharon) Edmonds of Jackson, OH and Angie (Jerry) Meadows of Winfield, WV; brothers, Michael (Jane) Edmonds of Fraziers Bottom, WV and Jerry (Patty) Edmonds of Apple Grove; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a special aunt, Marie Barker of Glenwood; and his dog Rosie.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Ted Nance and Wayne Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pete Meadows Cemetery in Glenwood. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
